About Me.
Hi! Welcome to my space.
I’ve always been drawn to the unconventional. While others might shy away from topics that are considered uncomfortable or unusual, I eagerly lean in, fascinated by what lies beneath the surface. During my time in secondary education, I became captivated by subjects surrounding the body and sex. I never had a concrete plan— I simply followed my curiosity, enrolling in courses that piqued my interest. As a result, I ended up with degree in Phsyiotherapy alonside a minor in Psychology, with a particular focus on sexual health.
In my first year of physiotherapy placements, I started receiving questions about back pain and sex, and it struck me: if people felt comfortable asking, I wanted to be equipped with the knowledge to answer. As one of the youngest physiotherapists attending pelvic health courses at the time, I soaked up every piece of information with enthusiasm. It was like finding the perfect intersection of my passions. Over time, I began to realize that many of the pelvic health issues I was learning about weren’t just theoretical—they applied to me as well.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’ve experienced many of the same symptoms that my clients come to me about. As a child, I struggled with bedwetting. During my teenage years, I dealt with anal fissures and chronic constipation. In university, I frequently experienced vulvar irritation, always assuming it was just a UTI or yeast infection, never considering that my vulva might be as sensitive as the skin on my face.
My journey with pain and healing continued through my early postpartum experience, where I navigated sex with the added challenges of grief, birth trauma, and a grade 3 vaginal tear. Throughout my first pregnancy and both postpartum periods, I also faced pubic symphysis pain. The transition into motherhood brought its own surprises—fecal incontinence in the early months and, of course, urinary leaking, which became a whole new puzzle to solve.
As I began getting fit postpartum, I had to figure out how to modify my activities to accommodate my body, especially during my second pregnancy. I’ve had both an epidural birth and a natural vaginal delivery, which included the remarkable experience of delivering a 9lb 8oz baby in child’s pose on a yoga mat in the hospital.
And then came the real challenge: navigating a grade 2+ (possibly grade 3) vaginal prolapse and mild anal prolapse. It was a whole new experience of learning to modify my activities and surrender to what my body could and couldn’t do. I pushed through by building my running tolerance to 21km, managing leaking and prolapse symptoms along the way.
I'm here. I'm not broken. I am on a mission to prove to you that you aren't broken and you have options!
